Doomed Galactic Journey (Game Thread)

I don't trust Aanya Eck with one of the guns, I'll say that right now. She defended Ronin strongly to me back on the first day, and has avoided committing herself to anything very much since then. Check the voting record for the last few days: not a single execution vote recorded. Given how easy it was to pair up Abgar and Paulus via their votes, I refuse to trust one who does not vote at all.

Lovely of you to vote me an SMG *now,* Vanguard, after you ensured that the last one got spaced. And you vote against e350tb with apparently zero evidence -- why? Ronin moved against you unprovoked on the second day of voting, and you were happy enough to vote against both Paulus and Abgar. Those things speak well of you. But just about nothing else does.

I demand a full accounting of your actions. We are down to the final moves in the war that the Rebels and Pirates have been waging against the rest of us, and there's no more time for nonsense.

I have some vote-log checking to do and conversations to hold before I place today's votes.

"You're smart, Renata, and that's why I trust your judgement on this. Aanya Eck it is, then. And instead of her in the tower, Kulko.

As for explanations, Renata, I can justify my every action, although some of it will be what you and Kulko calls "good faith".

Just so you are not overreacting due to stress, we are not allowed outside the ship on Nova Vlatixa either, before the threats are hunted down. I estimate we need to catch only one more, if any at all, and your assesment of Aanya is good enough that I would deem her as that one missing rebel/pirate.

What do you want to know? It is my duty as a captain to act in the best of the passengers, and right now, sharing whatever info I can seems to be helpful."

Frankly, Vanguard, your willingness to switch to Aanya Eck based on my suspicions, when just yesterday you were accusing *me*, makes me less inclined to vote for her myself, not more.

Who do the secret votes belong to? I am asking all of you, not just Diamondeye. We have been manipulated and pushed around via those votes since we first set foot on this ship, and I think we deserve an accounting. If you're innocent and you have one or more of those votes, spill it -- or I for one will be looking at the pattern of those votes for clues to the killers. And as for you, Vanguard, an explanation for your schizophrenia with regards to me would be a start ("Paulus is guilty -- no, wait, Renata! -- no, Paulus. but the secret vote most likely to belong to me still says Renata!" And lest I forget: "space that SMG; we can't let Renata have it. Oh, wait, maybe she deserves this other one that's turned up!")

"Hmph. I guess I owe you an apology, Renata. Yes, I did suspect you and did want that smg to end in your hands, but that was because I was counting on there being two people opposed to the craft arriving safely left. I had a theory that those two people could be you and Benny Lava, should Marius be innocent.

Which is why I changed opinions so fast after Paulus' death. Also, since nothing has been stolen since Abgar's death, I would deem it unlikely that there is a thief among us anymore; hence voting the smg to an innocent won't bring any risk to the craft any more.

Finally, the secret votes. Now, you're probably expecting me to lie and all that to escape the natural connection between my votes and the secret votes. But I am, like I said, going to be completely honest: One of the secret votes, active from day 2, belongs to me as part of being the captain of the ship. I have no knowledge of the other two secret votes that helped me attain the position in the first place. That's it."

Oh, one more thing: who killed Ronin and Nictel, and how did it happen? If the person or persons responsible can reveal that without contradiction by someone else, it might go a long way toward proving your innocence.

"Probably one of Abgar and Marius, or perhaps one of the people who had guns.
Another option would be an android, I believe we concluded them able to kill someone without weapons?

I do not recall the precise causes of death, can you brighten my memory?

Also, considering Renata's arguments against Aanya and my confessions in public, I'd like E350tb to reconsider his votes."

"I believed the secret votes to be glitches in the computer or some sort of built-in programming to be honest. I did not think they were split up among crewmembers if that is truly the case! Good thing we have a log..."

"I'll check my personal log to make sure what secret votes were mine, as to better determine the owner of the remaining ones, should the person not step forth and reveal him- or herself."

Well I can assure you that the ability to kill is nothing we Androids are built with. It is rather something special to the killer.

(OOC: According to the front page, Nictel was discovered beaten to death and Ronin detonated by a virus.)

{OOC: Aargh! I really thought we'd won it last night. I was worried about the "missiles" Paulus had been whispering into his comm unti, but thought it would be a purely external threat. Guess there's more bad guys than I expected. My suspicions based on voting were drawn to e350tb, who didn't even go after abgar, but rrhawn's sudden appearance after lying low and only voting a lynch vote on day 2 - when he voted "nobody" is just too much. Especially as he's voted himself and e350tb to the turrets!

I confess I was extremely suspicious of vanguard up to now, as he's thrown random accusations around and withdrawn them quickly quite a lot. But he did go after both Ronin and paulus, so although it could be elaboreate setups, we might not have got this far without him.

Those I trust at present I will vote for the turrets: renata and Kulko

PS: I've cleared my inbox.

SMG to Kulko, as it is apparently no use in mere self-defense, and I'd like Kulko and e350tb in the turrets. Anyone who trusts my judgment please back me up. I don't want the secret votes messing with things again.

In your hands Renata. SMG to Kulko. kulko and e350tb in the turrets. I hope you know what you're doing.

"well... seeing as we have no idea how the secret votes work, which person or persons wield them... I don't see how this would prove anything so it might be a political maneuver.

I will support you, partially, on the turrets. e350tb should get into one though I still suggest myself for one of those positions and reserve the right to change my mind. you expect trust in yourself yet so far you have given me none.

I can not in good faith vote the SMG to remain on board, you yourself said it had no apparent use in self-defense, vent it."

this secret votes thing is giving Dawn a headache. curious. she did not know she could get headaches. she's not too fond of them so far.

The SMG to Kulko. Furthermore, send Kulko and e350tb to man the turrets. Please, let's try to vote near-unanimously so the secret votes don't push us around again.

I've been laying low because neither the soldiers nor the scientists would co-operate with me at all. Beginning day 1, I tried to get e350tb elected as leader to allow the soldiers to control operations on the ship. Vanguard decided that he, not e350tb would be a better option. Vanguard has been an awful leader since then. I went to him the day after Winnie was killed with an explanations of how either The13thRonin was the killer and lost his battery in combat or it was an elaborate frame. Rather than communicate with me about this, Vanguard immediately threw our fellow soldier under the bus. In retrospect, it was the right thing to do, as the android was a killer. I admit I was wrong advocating for him.

Vanguard has behaved erratically from the beginning. He's kept others in the dark as to his thoughts and actions while there were murders. When the rebels were found killed, I had some hope that Vanguard was doing something behind the scenes, and was keeping some us in the dark for our protection. But now he admits he doesn't know who did that, he assumes pirates.

I've done my best to survive and help with this mission. If only I could have baited someone into attacking me at night they would have blown up in my laboratory. If you don't want me on the turrets that's fine, but don't hang me now that we are so close. Other than my early support of a fellow soldier, what have I done?

Kulko and e350tb on turrets.
Kulko smg.

Rather than communicate with me about this, Vanguard immediately threw our fellow soldier under the bus.

That can't be completely true. Ronin accused Vanguard first -- it was the first accusation of the day not aimed at Abaddon.

And if Diamondeye has been a bad leader (which I really can't argue with), then that early accusation by Ronin played a large part in that, by raising questions about him in other people's minds.

I sincerely hope I'm not wrong about Diamondeye. If I am, I'll fully deserve whatever horrible fate comes my way. Because if he's been a bad leader, then I've been a worse prophet, never scanning him.

Known innocents are e350tb, LightFang, and Kulko. Tasslehoff was also scanned innocent, but is dead. Ronin (first night) and Abgar (third) are the two non-innocents I scanned: LightFang can confirm that I knew about Ronin before his status was made public by his death. We just could not gather the support to take him down before someone else did us all the favor of killing him.

I expose myself like this in the hopes that it will encourage others to do the same, whether publically or in private, so that we have the best chance possible of gathering sufficient information to lynch the correct person this evening. If we manage it, it is likely that there will be no further danger from night killers, and even if we don't, I've just made myself the primary target, I do believe.

(OOC: I take this reckless course in part for the reasons I state, and in part because I just want to be on a winning team for once. I barely even care if I survive to the end -- I just want to have been a part of a win! So, killers, have at me if you can. I hope we get you first. Unless Splime has been playing fast and loose with the information I've gotten (I get considerably more detail than just "innocent" or "rebel", and so far it's all matched what the people I've scanned have claimed about themselves or had revealed upon their deaths), your possible targets for deflection of the blame are getting to be few.)

The Psychologist takes one more look around the crowd, assessing reactions as best she can. She picks up her laptop then, and stalks off.
