Double Posting

I have now made a newer, smaller version. :) It doesn't have the stupid looking code tags (since they're unnecessary, now that it's only one line). How does everyone like it? Is it stupid?

Later I'll probably add some links and stuff, but for now I'm going to bed.

Yes, much better. Even more innovative use of characters. Thanks WillJ.

Thanks and you're welcome. :) (And good choice with those colors! :goodjob: Where'd you get that idea? ;))

I now added some links. I'm especially proud of the first one! :D

Edit: And if the links make it too big, just let me know. :) (I can shorten them down some.)

When I want to do multiple replies in one post, I open the thread in two or three windows. One window is where my reply will go, another is a reference so I can flip back and forth b/t pages to see what people said and address those, and the third is only if I need to copy more stuff from another thread or just too lazy to skip pages. Normally I don't need more than two windows. Anyhow, that's one way you can try to go about quoting people without having to reply twice, though I admit, it can be a hassle still, especially with a slow computer and at a low resolution. I really don't know how anyone can browse / work on a computer with 800 x 600 resolution. *shudders at the thought*

There are also several good freeware desktop splitters, that take a desktop and keep all the windows in one 'pane', and allow you to change panes and see a different desktop. I use this at work, where I have several things going on at once. Helps keep it organized, or for when the boss comes in.

Go to www.webattack.com, check out the free ware, look for desktop organizers.

Just a quick question, How is it people manage to "double post"?
I mean when someone posts the exact same thing twice, at the same time.

Im not specifically saying this to/at archer, but it annoys me when people only refer to one thing in their post, and post again right after talking about something else.
I dont see why it cant be incorporated into one "Mega Post" :)

When that happens (I've done it myself a couple of times), it's not on purpose. One way it can happen is if someone clicks "submit reply" in the post reply screen or quick reply thing, and it seems as if nothing is happening (nothing's loading, it's as if you didn't click it, etc.) So the person decides to click it again, only to find out (when they're taken back to their post) that the first reply in fact did get through, so they accidentally "double posted." It can also happen by accidentally double-clicking the submit reply button instead of single-clicking. So that's why you sometimes see two posts in a row with the exact same information, or a post edited with the words "double post" (which is what I, and many others, always do to the second post in an accidental double post). Sometimes it even happens three ( a "triple post") or more times (but rarely).

This post is kinda contradicting what I said, but anyhoo :mischief:...

Gracias for the explanation WillJ :)

In my case its just general lazyness (and fear of losing my thought by the time i get to the end of the thread) . I didnt really know it bothered anyone, but now that its been pointed out, im trying my best to condense as much as possible.

That, and it is tedious to go to each post you want to quote, quote it, c/p it to the clipboard, go to the next one, paste it in, recopy everything. It gets really tedious when you miss one you want.

Not that I'm condeming/condoning. But I do frequently quote more than one post, and there have been plenty of times I've missed one, or got my thoughts mixed up.
