I installed one more time Civ III 1.21g and updated it to 1.29b2 and then I installed with the mod installer the DYP mod, and Civ III won't work, I open it, the icon bounce some times and then disappear with the message "Civilization III quitted unexpectedly", someone can help me making it work please ???

1, Are you using the English version of Civ3? I don't know if the DyP mod, or the mod installer, will work with other language versions.

2. When Civ3 quits do you get an option to send a report? If so, say yes and you will see a crash log window. Copy and paste the contents of the window to a text file and post it here and we can see if it gives any clues. Cancel the "send report" option after this, as Apple will take no interest if you send it to them.

1. I use only english versions (even if I'm french lol)
OK. We just need to eliminate the obvious problems first.

2. There's the report... quiet big
Nah! That's not big! Anyway, the only bit that means anything to anyone outside the Civ3 developers is the short part at the top that says:

Code:
Date/Time: 2005-04-02 22:29:06 +0200
OS Version: 10.3.8 (Build 7U16)
Report Version: 2

That tells me you are using the current OS X version, and the program crashed very early in its life while it was first starting up. I was possibly reading the civ3mod.bic file for DyP, but I'm not even sure of that. It looks as if the software completely lost its way.

Which copy of the DyP mod did you use? It must be the one for version 1.29f, and not the PtW one or the Rise and Rule version for Civ3 Conquests.

Please can you try to attach a copy of the civ3mod.bic file that you have in /Jeux/Simulateur/Civilization III DYP/? To do that you will have to make a ZIP file. If you don't know how to do that then you can email it to me instead. Please send it to alanh (at) gotm.civfanatics.net.

Damn ! I just noticed that i download the ptw version
<-- hits his head on the wall

When will there be full compatibility ?! :scan:

Yep! The civ3mod.bic file you posted looks exactly like the standard one that comes with version 1.29. I guess the PTW files you installed have gone into Scenarios, if they found anywhere to install into.

Files for PtW scenarios are normally saved in the Scenarios folder. They don't affect the main software and data in the top level folder, and I would expect then to leave your .bic file alone. PtW scenarios use a different file anyway with a .bix extension, so yours would not be overwritten. But I've never tried installing the PtW mod, so I don't know what effect it would have on your installed software.
