no i am not talking about the local police station (just kidding:)) but rather the shape of my current map... any one else ever have a map like this? mine is a complete cirle with a 'sea' in the middle (large map)... the only blemish to this cirle is a small 4 hex island offshore and a medium jungle island off to the edge of the map... needless to say once i fugured out the shape of the map i had a good laugh

Why is the world shaped like a ringworld instead of earth?

*ponder*

mmmm.. dohnuts....

So far I have really gotten into only two games of Civ3 (both eventually got the same error message, so now I'm waiting for Firaxis to respond to my technical-support email). Both games were 256x256 maps, and both turned out to be two doughnuts side by side! Now they weren't as perfectly shaped as your map sounds, but both continents in each game were roughly circular with a large lake in the middle.

My huge Pangaea world that I played a few games ago could be described as a big doughnut. I found this to be a great place for a war. My goal was to quickly control the north of and south portions of the map allowing me to cut off Russia and Japan on the west side of the island with me and take over the world!

If you could go under the Poles, you would come out halfway across the map on the same pole :crazyeyes

I played an awesome game in a doughnut continent. The cool thing was there was a tiny island towards the middle. By the time everything was done I could claim like half of the sea to myself.
