i can't access cnet's download.com, and i can't figure out what's wrong. i also posted this same problem in a thread on the Apolyton forums. any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Did you do a complete virus/spyware scan? Viruses are my first thought.

the eye chart tests were fine (not infected), and idk how it could be a virus - i have antivirus, antispyware, antimalware, etc. software running 24/7

Could still slip through. Some antiviruses, etc, just plain suck. Such as Norton.
Have you tried clearing out the DNS? or Accessing the site on another computer on the network if you use one?
To clear DNS : start>run>cmd> ipconfig /flushdns
Make sure you run cmd as administrator.
Also check your hosts file. Its in the Windows install directory/System32/drivers/etc/

And some viruses are smart. Or the programmers are, I mean. And they can disable antiviruses.

clearing the DNS didn't help any, and i navigated to the directory where the hosts file is, but idk what to do from there.

ok...so what do I do with the hosts file once i opened it? what is it i'm supposed to change?
