Download Setup not working

I bougth civilization 3 gold edition a year ago and I have been playing it ever sense,but yesterday I went to one of this civilization sites and I downloaded this patch that was suppose to help the game not freeze because it has been doing that lately.So I downloaded the pacth and when I try too play civilization a screen would come up saying I needed the disk of play the world with I don't have because I bougth the game online.I unistalled the play my world pacth and it still keep saying the same thing so I thougth if I just unistalled everything and then installed it agian it would work,so I did.I unistalled everything then I got my activiation code and tryed to download the game agian,but the download setup tryed to connect for 2 seconds and then it said Error:We are facing technical difficulty in downloading the game.Please contact our costumer support for assistance.Anyone has a solution for this?

Well, you ran into a problem that is more-or-less well-known in these parts: the official patches assume you have the hard CD to work from. Never, ever install an official patch against a downloaded version of the game. Check with the company you purchased from to see if they have any updated version to download.

As for the problem with downloading the game: you will have to take that up with your seller's customer service department.
