You can't. It's not abandonware yet because you can still buy it as part of the Chronicles collection.

Check ebay, Amazon, or Swaptree (where you can trade something else for it).

I have never played Civ2, but I hear it is a lot like Freeciv. Check that out!

Last I heard, you can buy a copy on Amazon for about $5.

And you don't even need your own money. You can use Amazon Mechanical Turk and make money by trading Coke rewards codes, answering surveys, testing Flash games, etc. The pay isn't very good but it wouldn't take long to get to $5.

You can also sign up with sites like Swagbucks or Mysurvey and you should be able to come up with enough points within a few weeks.
