Hello, I'm having issues with Civ4-BtS downloaded mods.
Every time I try to play some mods, something weird happens...

Some mods, like Rise of Mankind and Amra Advanced, get me to the "game loading" screen (after you choose your civ, planet type, etc), and then crash. I even got into the game once with Amra (I could move one unit), but it crashed right after.

The Civ Gold mod won't even load the mod's main menu. I'm not sure if I haven't waited enough time (the Civ4BeyondSword.exe keeps running), but it just didn't work for me.

Now, the Rhye's and Fall mod that came with my game works fine, and so did the Charlemagne and the Space mod (I forgot its name).

What should I do? I do beat the minimum requirements (I have 1GB RAM, Pentium 4 3.20 GHz, more than 10 GB of free system memory, ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series video thing), and I'm at version 3.17.

Thanks in advance. Please be simple, I'm not the best in computer configuring.

Thanks for replying.
The system is XP, the version's 3.17.

I'm not american, so I'll try to translate most of it.
The system says "Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - BtS found an error and had to be closed"

This is the error's "signature":

AppName: civ4beyondsword.exe
AppVer: 3.1.3.1
ModName: cvgamecoredll.dll
ModVer: 3.1.7.0
Offset: 00119c6b

Yes.. I just reinstalled Rise of Mankind (the megapack), and I got this error while loading the game...

:hmm:
please open my games\beyond the sword\civilizationIV.ini and set all items with log in their name then try to load a mod that crashes for you and after the crash post all items in my games\beyond the sword\logs as a zip file attachment here :)

you did not set all items with log in their name to 1, here is what the bottom of the ini should look like:

Code:
; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

; Enable synchronization logging
SynchLog = 1

; Overwrite old network and message logs
OverwriteLogs = 1

; Enable rand event logging
RandLog = 1

; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1

; Break on memory allocation order #
BreakOnAlloc = -1

also: these are the logs for civ4 not for bts. One troubling thing there is that it is not patched to 1.74 - the BtS installer should do that automatically. Is BtS installed?

Sorry, I don't understand.. where's the file in which I should write those commands?

And I'm downloading the 1.74 patch, to see if something changes.

Update: I downloaded the 1.74 patch, and it seems it was already installed. I tried running a Standard map on Rise of Mankind, and it worked! I played around 5 turns and decided to try a Huge map with the PerfectWorld script. Then, I got the following error:

"Memory allocation failure - exiting program.
Reason:bad allocation"

Help! =/

1 GB RAM..

I tried again, and this time it crashed in the middle of the game- It asked me to reduce my graphic settings and then a runtime error message appeared. I'll try to adjust it tomorrow and see what changes..

Some mapscripts do not work in Rise of Mankind if you are using v2.4x or v2.5x. I've included converted mapscripts with Rise of Mankind all those mapscripts start with prefix: RoM_. Mapscripts have been changes because RoM adds new terrain type Marsh, which is not in normal BtS and thus mapscripts made for BtS might not work correctly with the mod.

I see. Thanks for the information.

Anyway, I have been playing now on a Large map with the Tectonics script, but the bad allocation error continues eventually, it has crashed two times already...
