First off I'm aware I'm probably posting in the wrong section and I apologize, however I've been looking through the ridiculous amount of tutorials in an attempt to find a thread that can help me out with what I am trying to do but just about all of the ones I've viewed have nothing but dead links to the necessary programs.. :wallbash:

What I am trying to actually do:
While playing the Fall Further mod for FFH2 I was disappointed by the style and color of certain cities (Illians, Calabim, etc) and I wanted to change that, I figured maybe an unpaking program with a file converter & editor would work but I realize it's a tad more complicated than that, to which I humbly ask: how can I edit the style and color of cities?

hi sengsara

there are modcomps out there that modify the look of city improvements according to civilization artstyle; it uses the cityLsystem xml file to, for example, add a mongol yert bit of art when ARTSTYLE_MONGOLIAN has built one and is in the ancient era

I've never used it, perhaps when I stop having a life i'll mod it in! I've used the file to make a few changes (and the plotLsystem xml which handles improvements) so it's not impossible, just annoying

the best bit is making your own art, the coding is tedious as hell

it's a very annoying file to work with. it certainly will trigger OCD fugue . . . but you could find one and try to modify it. the old one was called "ethnic citystyles" and will be in the xml and python modding forum.

the other good bit is coffee
