Dual SLI Issues

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone else is running Dual-SLI cards and CIV IV? I'm having trouble since I got my new computer with the image flickering, it's quite annoying and makes the game unplayable.

I know the game *CD* is fine, I installed and played it on my old computer.

Battle for Middle Earth and FFXI both installed and play fine.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Have you patched to the most recent version? What resolution are you running at? I have SLI on (dual 7800GT, Dell 3000WFP monitor), and I get some artifacts if I run at 2560x1600. But I find that Civ4 doesn't look so great at that resolution, anyway; a lot of text is just too small. So I run at 1600x900. This works fine, at least since the patches. (I do wish I could scroll out further, before the game switches to "globe mode", but that's a relatively minor complaint.)

Yes, I have the 1.61 Patch downloaded and installed.

I've tried running @ multiple resolutions, including your recommended 1600x900 with no luck.

Anywhere I can get a good explanation of why some game play smoothly and others have issues?

Did you try turning off SLI, to see if that helps? At least you can find out if the problem is SLI-related, or something else.

How do you turn off the SLI function?

On my system:

go to Control Panel
click on Display
select Settings tab
click on Advanced button
select "GeForce 7800 GT" tab (or whatever your card is)
Click on "SLI multi-GPU" sidebar option
uncheck "Enable SLI multi-GPU" box
