E3 2002: Scenario editor out as early as June

Oooh, very interesting indeed. :D

What else needs to be patched, exactly? I'm just happy enough with 1.21 to want to avoid jinxing it with more screwups.

Can't wait!

:)

For those civ 3 players who haven't played/got civ 2 can you explain whats in the version 2.42 scenario editer plz

Ahh,

A morla dilemma, does King_Jay dare to get the power up and win the game? Or does he continue building actual tanks in his back yard? King_Jay will rule the world.

Decisions decisions....

What are you on TiggerZuke
PH76:

:goodjob:
good news

Anybody got any idea what the multiplayer capabilities in the patch would be like??? Will It be hotseat type as in CTP?? They're hardly going to bring something out for us to download in june if they're gonna try and sell the same thing to us in october!!!

I'm not sure "multiplayer tools" means the same thing as "multiplayer capabilities." The "tools" are related to the scenario editor to be released in a (free) patch. My guess is that the greatly enhanced editor will allow true scenario creation, including city / unit placement, etc.

So, each of you scenario creators can select multiple human player locations and civs (i.e., can create scenarios for MP), which are unplayable as such until multiplayer capability is available . . . . thereby whetting the appetite for the coming (NOT free) XP.

At least, that's what I would do . . . .

A free, fully functional scenario editor--available this June, no less. Hmmmm...., I guess I'll believe it when I see it. It would be nice to be able to get some confirmation on this from a second source, or even from someone at Firaxis. Still, if it's true, I think it's the right thing for Firaxis to do. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Does anyone know if the so called full scenerio editor will allow you to place cites and civilizations exactly where you want them?

...and on another note:

Is there any way to keep a civilization from selecting a certain form of government? The "shunned government" option in the editor does not work. I wanted to make a scenario where some countries are not democracies, but sure enough as soon as it becomes available all the civilizations will choose this form of government, even if it is shunned.

I don't believe it until I download it and start building a mini-scenario.

I wan't to believe!

I would be shocked if they gave us a working scenario editor and map editor. I would be happy and would be saying sorry for the rest of my life. :D :p In that case I would be happy to pay even $40.00 for EP!
