Earlier Release???

I have noticed that amazon.co.uk says that Civ IV is being released on the 21st of October.

Is this right or are Amazon trying to increase their sales by pushing the release date back?

If its true, they're leaving it REALLY late to go gold

EDIT: I also noticed that in America (Amazon.com) Civ 4 has been brought to the 24th, 1 day earlier than this site says

I know Amazon (US) is shipping it on the 24th so that it arrives on the 25th, release day. Not so sure about the UK version.

I've just got home from work and confirmed US Launch date at EBGames to be the 26th, so I'm not sure why amazon's saying otherwise. 24th or 25th should be shipping date, as I've tried to explain many times already, but to no avail: most websites that announce a "release date" are actually quoting you the shipping date, brick and mortar stores won't receive them until the next day. So, the 25th being confirmed as the Shipping date, stores in the US will receive and sell them on the 26th.

Okay, a call to Gamestop online and a call to the local store yielded this info....Preorder versions SHIPS on the 24th...in stores on 25th ( I orderd overnight delivery from the online shop, they confirmed I would recieve on the 25th.


Standard version ships the 25th in stores on the 26th.

I believe somebody said UK got pushed back a week to the 28th, but not certain. Also, 24th/25th have always been the release/shipping/whatever dates. It depends on where you look. Bit confusing with all the terminology and everyone using different dates.

I called my local EB games today to clarify when the game will be in because I was alittle confused with all the diffrent dates going around and they said I can pick it up on the 25th.

It sounds like the preorder version ships the 24th from what the other guy just said (referring to EB). Gamestop also indicated the same.

So it sounds like you'll get your game shipped the 24th. If you pre-ordered at the store maybe you get it the 25th...otherwise it depends on the shipping options.....

For Civ 4 $10 overnight was a no brainer for me!

i payed the $10 overnight shipping too...so i hope if it ships on monday the 24th i will get it on the friday of the 28th....8)
