As in, regardless of social policy or ideology. Egypt should be able to build anny wonders. basicly what they can do now, but as in bnw wonders are going to be locked by policys etc it would be a fitting ua

They have a 25% boost to building wonders, which sometimes leads to ridiculous results (I usually give up if Egypt starts wonder spamming). There's like, 30-35 wonders in the game? Why complaining if they wouldn't be able to build three or four of them?

It's not like you have to complete a tree to unlock a wonder. It's part of the opener. And you don't need to complete trees any more for a cultural victory. So if Egypt wants to build all the Wonders that are locked to trees, they just need to hit the openers. The only ones they can't do are the two associated with the ideologies that they didn't take. No big loss there.

I'm wondering if Egypt will have a big advantage with tourism since wonders will now generate tourism. I know France is getting their UA changed to boost tourism in Paris but Egypt might really benefit the most.

Well, in theory, they can still built them, except the chances are they are going to be gone by the time Egypt's ideology becomes too weak and needs to flip.

The idea is to give Egypt some strategies, unavailable to others, like starting hardly focusing on Tradition while building Pyramids. Having unique civilization strategies is good.

They'll probably miss out on two wonders the entire game. To me, that's not a huge deal. I took this thread to be more about the other 8 SP-locked wonders.

Why would it be a fitting UA? Of two (real-world) Egyptian Wonders in the game, one was built by the Greeks. It's tenuous at best that the current Egyptian UA is about wonder-spamming. Sure, Karnak and Abu Simbel probably should be Wonders, but they're not. Admittedly, neither was in the original lists of Wonders of the Ancient World despite existing at the time these were compiled, but then neither were the Lighthouse of Alexandria or - in Herodotus' list - the Colossus of Rhodes (neither of which had been built at the time; the Ishtar Gate was in early lists in place of the later Lighthouse according to Wikipedia, but that doesn't indicate what replaced the Colossus in Herodotus' list, if known, or if indeed Herodotus only recognised six Wonders).

Indeed, a Wonder-themed UA would make more sense for the Greeks, given that four of the well-recognised Wonders are Greek, compared with one Babylonian (two with the Ishtar Gate), one Persian and one Egyptian (though with another in Egypt).

Why?

The UA is decent, the UB superb, and the UU useful when available and when the terrain permits. What does allowing Egypt access to all SP-specific wonders do to add to the game, aside from cheapening the whole concept of making certain wonders SP-specific? You don't end up buffing Egypt (they don't really need a buff as far as I am concerned) but rather you end up nerfing everyone else by forcing upon them a strict but fair rule which one civ arbitrarily gets to ignore.

Am i the first to notice that it is 15%, or did i miss a major update?

Yeah the addition of tourism and archaeology could definitely end up moving Egypt up a tier in the rankings. They're ideal for a culture game now.

Perhaps a MOd could change the thread title to indicate that this is merely a suggestion and not an actual change to the game.

If it were to get an enhancement, I'd rather have the Burial Tomb not replace the Temple (= forcing you into religion) and/or a change for the building to provide a "mummy" artifact in the Industrial Era.
