Electric Railroad- What is it good for?

Besides being more expensive, I don't see any difference in the electric railroad over the standard railroad.

Also, Sevopedia is missing information on the different terrain improvements when it comes to roads, etc.
 
You can build it without coal or oil.

thanks- it is a bit of a pain that automated workers build it over regular railroads....
 
I seem to recall that putting electric railroad over regular railroad on a fully developed town was worth a bit more, but the tooltip might have been lying to me.

If it has no benefits other than the ease of construction, perhaps the order of the routes could be changed so that "railroad" is considered better than "electric railroad" so automated workers would build the cheaper, resource-enabled version.
