Email notification troubles

Am I correct in thinking this is an appropriate forum in which to post about problems with the forum? I couldn't find an email address to contact for help...

Anyway, I have email notification turned on for both posts and PMs. I am subscribed to several threads (that have had new posts since I subscribed), and I got the initial PM from Thunderfall. I have checked and rechecked to make sure my email address is entered correctly, but I haven't received any email messages from the site - not even a welcome message. There's no reason I can find on *my* end that I shouldn't be getting emails, so could somebody take a look at this for me? Please?

A possibility is that your ISP thinks mail from CivFanatics is spam and blocks it. You should contact your ISP and see whether or not that is the case.

It's also possible there is a problem with the site or the server that hosts it. A few months ago, there were widespread problems with people not getting e-mail notifications. When Thunderfall sees your message, I'm sure he will check into it.

I'm afraid that's all the help I can offer. :(
 
Just a quick note to say that I have never received an email message from CFC either even though I have asked to. I just thought it didn't work. :( I use Cox cable for an ISP in case that's relevant.) Lord knows they don't block any of the real spam I get!

Notification can be a bit odd sometimes - yesterday I got a "reply to thread" message for a thread I haven't been subscribed to since late 2001. :crazyeye:
 
I haven't had email notifications since november, and know for a fact that my ISP isn't blocking them. :(

Oh well, you learn to live without them eventually - i've had to ask my friends to start emailing me again, though, as otherwise I would be getting too lonely. :crazyeye:
