Embark Units

Please help:

How do I embark land units onto a naval unit?

How do I see the cargo space of a naval unit? - not even on the help menu - units
appears.

I'm on my first game and I've only come to the caravel yet but I wish to know how do I take my units into another continent with the upcoming naval units.

In Civ 5 ships don't load land units (so they don't have cargo spaces).

After researched optics, land units (which have passed through own territory) can enter directly in water tiles.
