Embassy with "Die Küche"

Anyway, first of all, I try to agree upon an RoP.

Wrote this:

We would like to agree on a Right of Passage with you (first of all until the end of the AA).

Exchanging maps is a different deal, we believe.

Their reply...

We donnot think that trading maps is a different deal. Right at the moment the main reason for RoP ist making maps. We did not intent to sent any units into your territory and since entering the anarchy will happen soon we will probably not even have a single chance to move just one unit into your territory in order to chart the shape of this continent. Thus we must decline a simply RoP at the moment.
Maybe we will have the opportunity to move a warrior into your territory, but this would interfere with your workers and will cost quite some time. Simply trading maps does prevent such inconvenient measures.

How about we trade maps once we complete Map Making only (instead of every turn for the rest of the Ancient Age)?

I posted this inquiry:

Alright.

We are exploring your territory (without asking). Thus you have a right to get knowledge of ours.

We'd agree to a one-time exchange, as soon as we get Map Making. (turn after the current one).

This would solve the trouble you mentioned in your latest post.

Is that acceptable for you?

That sounds acceptable to me. If they won't give us that, propose that we end the alliance and go to war, that way we will only have to deal with two opponents, rather than three.

What????
They are trying to gouge us for a map every turn. I mean, sure, we messed up and landed in their territory at the end of our turn. If this was our first encounter with the Kitchen or Anarchie, or if this was even present day BH, I'd say sure, let them hold our arm over the flame. We deserve it.

But it's not. We are in the middle of negotiations for an era of tech trading and beyond. We are talking about our military ally. If they're just kidding, ha ha I have a couple of chef jokes myself. But if they're not, it is very unstatesmanlike of them to treat us like this. We've pushed the torch back in their direction, let's see if they back off. If they don't, let's play hardball.

Their reply...

We are not exactly happy about just an one-time exchange, but we do also not want to misuse this situation. We agree to your proposal. But if you change your mind in favour of recurring exchanges we would like to proceed that way.

Right on! See, they can be a good ally.

To the Chefs,

We have presented your tech agreement proposal to the Anarchie and they have examined it and replied. It was an informative conversation, here's the main gist of the Anarchie conversation on the Tech Alliance Proposal spoken by d7:

"I also agree that the proposal is fair, but I think cheaper techs that the Knights already have should be taken into account like this:

1. The republic costs 583 beakers instead of 700 and is shared among three teams.
2. Code of Law has cost 208 beakers instead of 250 and is shared among two teams (although that part of the calculation does not affect the Anarchie at all).

So I get the following amounts of gold to transfer:

Anarchie -> Küche: 44 1/3 Gold
Küche -> Eagles: 1 1/3 Gold
Eagles -> Anarchie: 58 1/3 Gold

(or to simplify the process, the Eagles pay 14 gold to the Anarchie and 43 gold to the Küche)."

The Eagles actually agree with this and/or other modifications, but are willing to forego anymore in-depth negotiations by supporting the Anarchie's proposal above. Having played with you before, the Anarchie team members seem to be more adept at running the numbers presented by you. Ours came close, but they appear to have a better handle on the situation.

The Anarchie appears to want active/running negotiations, as they require some unit techs immediatey. They have already shipped us Literature (which we've passed onto you) and we have sent them Warrior Code. When they've finished Mathematics, we will get that and can start on Currency or Construction. They will start on HBR. Is all of this sounding good to you? Except for the gold layout, the agreement seems to be running along the scheduled route. Most of all we wanted to keep you informed as to what has happened thus far.

What are your thoughts?

This might be acceptable for a first communication following Anarchie's inclusion in the deal. What do the Eagles think? Should I post it?

It has been posted in the Kitchen. I will put some words together for the Anarchie later.

The immediate Kitchen response...

"Their numbers are wrong. Code of Law had cost you 214 beakers and the republic will cost us 600 beakers. How shall we act if the Knights research construction shortly before you? You may then have already put 475 beakers of than only 428 beakers instead of 500 beakers. Such situations may arise."

According to Calis' documentation in the State of the Empire thread, Code of Laws cost us 215 beakers. At least that was his best determination. So the Kitchen's number is closer than Anarchie's number. (Kitchen - 214, Anarchie - 208).

I will post this in the Anarchy Embassy.

The new menu from the Chefs.... It appears they believe we will prosper immediately from libraries...

"We need to summarize what we have. Let us assume that the Eagles receive monotheism and Anarchia feudalism as bonustech. Let us further assume that the Knights will not research any more technologies before our three tribes do it. Then here is a shedule for this very special case:

The technologies will be researched in the upper order, will be exchanged immediatly when researched and all technologies are not permitted to be passed in any way to the Knights. In the case of same bonus techs Küche will pay 25% of the cost to Anarchia and Eagles.
We must inform you about the risk that Küche will be the last party to complete their tasks. We will not receive a "free" technology and we will also not have the advantage of cheap libraries, that allow Eagles and Anarchie to increase their pace."
