Hi again!
I wonder whether people are still interested in civ 1 OCC games.
About 2 years ago I even tried to write down some my thoughts on such games.

Now I decided to try again Emperor OCC games. Well, it's quite difficult for some starts. I still cannot find a superior strategy. Now I got some start which could be interesting for the tests. All settings are standard, 7 civ, Emperor, I moved the settler to the left.
The start is interesting because
In most of my test games I could develop quite peacefully without giving huge tributes. However, the neighbours are Mongols, Egyptains, and later Zulus. They are not too close.
The land in BFC is pretty crappy and without special resourses. There was a gold mine in the original BFC.
I suggest the following rules:
To settle in place (it's about 45 commerce in Republic).
The Colossus is not allowed (because it's much easier to play with the Colossus or with some good special resourses)
I wonder what is the best opening for this start and whether it's possible to got a superior edge against the AIs.
It would be interesting to compare achievments at 1000 BC, 1 AD and 1000 AD.
