I always played as Belgium since they were rather easy and so on. But now I wanted to play it from the other end of the spectrum: as the Netherlands. I am not that great of a writer, so don’t expect that much of a story :p.

As you can see I have already annihilated Belgium’s rebellion against the Dutch crown. I refused to grant them independence in the Treaty of London event, in order to get more land. It worked well :P. England was on Belgium’s side, but I put my navy in the way of them, so they never could attack me. Prussia also joined in the good fight, and helped secure my provinces on the east side that were taken. I swept down from the northwest and took Brugge, and went east from there. Now that I have taken all Belgium land except for the capital, it is time to reconstruct and make the Dutch a Empire.

EMP looked over the map of the Netherlands. He decided that now that the Belgian war is over, it is time to industrialize the nation. In Vlaandren and Wallonia a steel factory had to be placed in each state. This way all of the unemployed Belgians would be kept busy and not revolt. This would fill the Dutch coffers with lots of money, and the war loans were paid off quickly. In addition two colonial outposts were made in Namibia.

The two steel factories were upgraded to level three, producing 3.5 steel per day. However, the steel market was not producing enough money for the crown. EMP determined that the real business would be in clothing. Since the Colonies in Indonesia were already producing dye, it would be cheap to make, and can be sold at a high price. However, the Dutch had no machine parts, and were unable to buy any. Money had to be invested in Industry techs. The money put here would yield the parts to make the factories, and the Dutch could move away from the hot steel factories, to the cool clothing factories.

During this, EMP found out that the ammunition factories needed more sulfur, and this in turn was slowing down production of small arms. There was one more province that could be taken that had lots of sulfur: Brussels. The great Dutch cavalry and infantry marched into it easily, and took the last city of Belgium. The rebellion had been crushed. A united Netherlands could now grow bigger economically.

The Dutch-Prussian-Austrian Alliance is still strong, but it will not be for much longer. The Dutch will march into the German City States and stop them from uniting, before they get too strong. But in order to do this, EMP needed money, and lots of it. An attack could be made on the northern city-states easily, but Prussia would come to the rescue. We will wait and see what happens.

i would suggest you place one army in luxemmburg and then rush to take the small states to the north.

I could do that, and go annexing all of them, any other suggestions (I will play it tomarow or the next day)
