This would be great to be able to trade partial part of your world map.

Obviously not that much use in single player, but in multiplayer, it would be awesome.

Majority of player does not care much about scouting & maps, but I do & I think this is vital information. I am often ready to pay for a map.

On the other side, I would sometime would like to help a friendly nation with a map of a common ennemy, whitout having to share my entire scouting effort.

Could simply be a tree like "Stop Trading with", but instead "Share map of player..", with a list of all players, including you.
Can add a "share neutral land map", which is everything you visited outside any cultural border.

That sounds like a good idea except it would also have to fog out all area surrounding your own territory or a smart enemy would be able to figure out where some of your important coastal cities are.

I agree that in MP, partial map trading would imho be a good addition. I like the idea of being able to sell off one of my enemies' geography to another enemy and not my own aswell - this would definately be a good addition.

yeah, or like just showing another civ a useless sea or desert while getting gold or a map of their country, that would be cowardly and kinda evil, but it would be ironic, funny, give me a bunch of kicks for tricking the other country, not to mention all the benifits id get.

It would hard to fit into the game, and what you can do to them, they can do to you.

...or they could simply destroy you for tricking them :p
