Hello there.
I'm playing a LAN game of Civ III Conquests using simultanious turns with my brother, but there are some things that are hampering our enjoyment of this fine game.
The loss of animations for both battle and movement of troops are annoying. The loss of animations for movement would not have been so bad (perhaps even good) if we still could see the new land after the unit have moved as you do in single player. For us it makes the game actually go slower since we most of the time during exploration, do look back at the tiles that was explored.
I can understand that most of the things that were removed (like various pop-ups) were a good idea for internet games, but not seeing what your units explore and how a battle turns out, lessens the fun of the game.
I would like to know if anyone know any way to enable at least the unit animations. (Enabling the civil disorder and scientific breakthorugh popups, would be neat too.) I hope this is not hardcoded and lies within the cyclopean walls of the exe file
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
