You must have really hated the Civ IV replay system then.

Try constructive criticism. Saying something sucks and offering no avenue to how you want it improved is forum clutter at best.

All we can gather here is that you'd want it more like CIV but offer nothing as to exact key features you think is missing or that they should work on first.

As it has since it was first implemented, the end of game replay shows the extent of each civ's cultural sphere of influence regardless of the terrain. As a result, the edges of each continent are lost to a sickly orgy of pastel color.

And that's some major poo poo.

Change is upon us, prepare for massive repetitive whinge threads about nothing! Don't worry, within a year or two this expansion will be referred to as the greatest thing ever, regardless of actual quality (see references to Beyond the Sword expansion).

I agree that it isn't great, but no civ game has ever had a stupendous replay system, so this claim isn't exactly unique to BNW...

Just looked up a Civ IV replay. I didn't remember that the culture borders also spilled over the land contours. My bad srry <3. Nevertheless, the culture fill color was transparent, so you could still see the "real" shape of the different empires.

anyway

I understand where you're getting at, but could you post a screenshot from ciV? Because my memory says that the replay is just like the in-game map and only counts land tiles.

This may just be the worst complaint about anything ever.

Why? I haven't ever seen the replay feature yet since I haven't played in a while but going over the history of my civilization was one of my favorite things to do in Civ 4 and it wouldnt have been nearly as enjoyable if it wasnt for the replay feature. I could easily see why OP would think this is a big deal.

The problem with Civ V's is that it's real-time, which makes no sense for the game. Previous games always had you progress by turns, and showed notifications alongside rather than in a separate screen. Just having the real-time blob depicts nothing more than the expansion and contraction of territory - which is a large part of the replay's interest, but not the entirety of it.
