Error after downloading patch

this patch sucks. after hours of updating reinstalling civ4 still doesnt run. Now i have an error about shading files

someone plz help.

None of them work.

just to be sure,, when you used the 2nd download.. did you browse to the specified dir and run the dxsetup.exe?
(not the file you downloaded that is.. but after running the downloaded file)

I went to MS website and used their web DX installer. It didn't update anything, it instantly said the files were "installed and ready to use."

I downloaded the redistributable they had there and got the same result.

The link quoted above did the trick for me. Something different about that redistro package. :shrug: Thanks for the link there.

I did not reinstall Civ 4.

i downloaded the latest directx9. oc. and i still get the same error message
D3DX9_32.DLL was not found, even though i am looking right at the file can someone help me figure this out???

I'm getting the "cannot load shader libraries" message. ITs annoying as . .. .. .. ..

same thing here. This link worked out!!! Microsoft updater doesnt work somehow

already did it. it makes civ run, but not multi-play.

Make sure u configure your firewall correctly. I had the same problem. when i added civ4 to my firewalll it was fixed.
