Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

On the modification I am working on I am breaking up the authorities into different minor civs , and one major civ the military to represent the different main buildings/groups/units of the city before , and during the beginning of a zombie invasion.
 
Excellent King Arthur ... thank you for creating a new approach to C3C ...

I like the ideas of maps being created and posted on this thread ...

However the new version should possibly be started on a fresh thread ... or I feel there will be much confusion generated ...

Also the ideas being discussed is good ... however it is important to concider the evolution within the constraints of the game ... unless we are talking multiplayer, I don't know if the AI is upto staring in a 'thinking' role in the next b-grade movie

Just my thoughts :D

I like the background sound effects as well, but I think I worried the neighbors :crazyeye:
 
So who should start the thread? or do we just continue using this one, since now EZI2 is coming to an end?

I saw some zombie on the mainland at map editor, looks like that it's a sure sign of zomibe invasions hmmmm. Great ending KA, or just a brief break?

and yeah as to the info on the ETI3, I thought someone brought up that he make some sort of map for it, maybe we could use that or construct a new one?

reason for starting new thread is simply all new info can be linked to or summed up on Page 1 ... so the thread starter has the responsibility to continue this process ...

All discussion and new maps relivant to this version 2 stays here ...

As to who to start ... I suggest someone who has something to post or is prepared to post the new version map

I have been sent these new zombie sounds ... in addition to original 'Brains' our zombies can now desire ...

alternative 'Brains', and 'Fresh' and 'Flesh' and 'Fresh Meat'

Hope all is going well. Here are some Zombie Sounds if you want them. Flesh, Brains, Fresh and Fresh Meat. I extracted them from "They Hunger" game...Free game that uses Half-Life engine. I have many Zombie sounds in that game. I changed the format for CIV III and shortened the sound lengths to 1 second. IF you want something altered for timing etc...let me know.

The game clock seems to be stuck at 10 PM. By the way, sorry if this has been adressed before--there's forty pages worth of comments that I can't read through.

Sounds about right. You need the 1.22 patch for Conquests
 
@Mewtarthio - I managed to dig out some more info.

These label.txt errors appear to be quite frequent which is probably to do with the different versions of Conquests out there. Yargos actually provided a great link on how to deal with these types of problems which is detailed here

It might be worth checking out since the solution is quite simple to implement - might be easier for you than patching to 1.22.
 
Other ideas for sequel:

-Assume a "partial victory" for everyone. That is, the Survivors escaped, the Company completed its coverup, and the Authorities nuked the island.

-How about Hannibal and Ms. Tokugawa attempting to expose the company, but being declared insane (start out in the Asylum)?

-Dr. Lazar died a horrifically bloody death. However, the company managed to scrape up his remains and put him into a 0/0/0 unit called the "Cyrogenic Capsule," located at their Mainland Secret Lab. Dr. Lazar can eventually be upgraded back into his Manbot.

-I'm not sure what to do with Natasha. Maybe the Company kept her DNA and a new "Natasha" unit is produced by the "Cloning Lab" every ten turns? (Unrealistic, I know, but so are Zombie Bats). Maybe she hijacked a ship and got far enough away that she wasn't killed, but a nuclear EMP blast destroyed the reciever for the Company's "remote kill" switch and she now works for the Survivors?

-Of course the Director can't die. Maybe in the sequel, his "death" animation will be the "Joke Animation" with the Black Hole with manic laughter, as though he's teleporting to safety.

-As suggested before, a zombie named "Mayor Reynolds."

-And the Ghost of Farmer Zeb!

-One final suggestion: should we make a different thread for this?
 
As to the time problem, definately upgrade it, the same exact thing happen to me once, it stay at 10pm. but once I upgrade it to 1.22, it's fixed.

I think KA should start the new thread, anybody agree?

Nice ideas, I like them. But then company are thought to be replace by the zombie cult civ. So it's might still be disscussed.
 
Just thought of a possibility for allowing the massive zombie assault at the beginning without events. Give the zombies a starting "Underwater Lair" in the ocean (making the ocean settleable shouldn't be a problem, assuming there are still no Settlers). The zombies will get an underwater transport unit of some sort, such as a Zombie Whale, Zombie Squid, Zombie Penguin, or Zombie Isle of the Deep. In fact, they'll get several of them, enough to launch a sort of D-Day invasion. Because nobody expects them, the beachfront property will be completely unguarded (the "official" explanation is that they don't know what's happening; this is meant to insure that the zombies will take the beaches in the initial assault). Of course, a natural side effect of this will be that the Survivors, Authorities, and any other humans besides the Cult of Zombi will need to research a Frogman unit or something similar to take the Lair. We'll also need to find some way to deal with the inevitable corruption. Maybe Zombiism gets Communal corruption, or maybe they're given an extra corruption-reducing Wonder that functions only under Zombiism.

It seems that it would be better to have nobody believe Hannibal, Mrs. Tokugawa, and General Fullbright (the General might even start out in a "Court Martial" building!). That way, the zombies can take everyone by surprise. The map will probably be a bit larger--this is a city, not a resort island--so there will likely be room for four players. Still, it's all up in the air right now. Of course, VanAllen seems like the guy to join a zombie cult just for revenge if his company were destroyed, and the cult would probably view Dr. Lazar as a god, so some ideas might be implementable regardless.
