Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

Fantastic scenario!

My current game (Survivors) seems to be going well. I was more cautious with the Main Characters than the first time I played, and that's paying off; I took the Graveyard, Fast Food Joint and Factory without losing any of my original Buildings or Main Characters. The Authorities and Company seem to be holding their own fairly well too - which hems in my own expansion, but also holds back the Zombies. I think City Hall is about to fall.

I have Barricades and Generators at all my Buildings... now building up my forces (Badasses and Chainsaw Maniacs to come with my MCs) for the big push.

My only constructive criticisms repeat what others have said - give the Company and Authorities the ability to build some unit from the start, and I like the idea of the Authorities having some sort of tank unit. But I'm still researching how to build Survivor tanks anyway.

Anyway, hilarious scenario, and a good break from my work.

It is a good break from any big scenario; you can finish it in an evening, which I really like. Let's you 'recharge the batteries', so to speak. ;)

I Like the new terrain! It will take a bit to get used to I think, but I really like the roads... BTW, is Hannibal Smith cross dressing in that first screenshot???

Yes and the resources show up a lot clearer now and will only now appear on roads. Those Commerical property buildings and Residential property buildings are actually modified mountain and volcano graphics and therefore have high defense factors 50 & 100 respectively and they can't be entered by wheeled units.

Good spot. I actually changed Ms Tokugawa to a king unit but forgot to rename her unit in the editor - hence she gets the default leader name of the civ.

I just finished putting the final touches to the update and have requested ftp access from Thunderfall. I hope everyone who has downloaded the scenario before does so again.
thanks

Umm, that has not been posted yet though, right??? Also, are any of the cities on those commercial terrains? Because the Zombie units are almost all wheeled if I remember what I saw in the editor, so they will not be able to enter those. Is that the idea? I was able to save units by hiding in the parklands sometimes because of that.

Cities can't be built on them and zombies are no longer wheeled except Monster Zombies!!!! You can move your own units onto them for a 50 or 100% defense bonus, that's if you can find a building that isn't swarming with zombies already. Now there's nowhere to hide. But don't despair because playing the Survivors, Company and Authorities has now been made easier

And no it's not been posted yet. It's uploaded but I'm waiting on the download url from Thunderfall

I've posted the update details on the first thread while we wait for the url from Thunderfall. I've removed the existing link to avoid any confusion.

I look forward to trying the updated version. :) In the meantime maybe I can capture some parts and build my helicopter, to win the first version. (Just at Warlord.)

I'm doing really well now, but the Zombies just keep coming, and coming, and coming...

It should be possible to win that way, people have managed it in the past. It's easier if the zombies are in charge of the airport so you don't have to declare war on anyone else. Good luck and don't forget to duck your head before getting into the helicopter.

Thanks, I'll duck!

I've actually taken the airport (from the Zombies, I've been lucky and not had to fight anyone else). I control most of the island, including the Armoury. I sent a force of Mean Machines, each carrying a Badass, down the South coast. But Parts all seem to be fairly central right now, and to get any I may have to take so much of the island I'll have a domination victory first... which would be fine.

Two more comments... love the Mean Machines. Beyond being perfect for hit-and-run attacks keeping down the Zombie numbers, their transport capability is quite useful; I was able to launch a long-range assault on the Airport, bypassing City Hall (still owned by the Authorities) with them. I'm considering using them to carry Heavy Teams in to attack the Cinema. (I've been whittling them down from a fortress between the Radio Station and the Cinema for some time.)

The second one is that I love the flavour text. The more I play the more I discover, and it's all dead-on. I feel inspired to watch more horror movies!

Doh,the link doesn't work... :wallbash: :suicide:
Try to fix it soon :)

Ps:BTW,what zombie movies you recommend to watch?

I'm still waiting on the d/l link from Thunderfall :(

Biker Zombies from Detroit (2001) and Zombie Vs. Ninja (1987).
Or Shaun of The Dead - a British ZomCom.

Doh, only Shaun of the Dead is avaibable at DVD companies what I use...
Hmm, I should the Dusk till Dawns and borrow my big brother's Resident Evils :D

Still haven't got a download link from Thunderfall. I've sent him another PM but he must be on holiday or something?

Some others then
Bio Zombie (1998); Dawn of the Dead (2004);Army of Darkness (1993); Dead Alive (a.k.a. Braindead, 1992). Any George Romero zombie movie is considered a classic of the genre.

Hmm...Perhaps you should add another "hero" unit for the survivors: Padre, cause there's now a church :).

Ps: Army of Darkness is so funny, cause the skeletons in that movie were so crappy, but I enjoyed the ending...Damn... Trilogy of the Dead doesn't work on PS2

I found a bug, you haven't corrected the Upgrade link of Badass hero and Flaming Hero

Some zombie movies are good, some are really cheesy and bad...but for the love of god don't waste your time with a movie like "Biker Zombies from Detroit". That is easily the most piss-poor film I have ever seen. Don't take my word for it, check out the superb ratings it's gotten http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0298250/

Great map though, 9/10.

@Spetznaz - The Zombies start with the church and there isn't a decent padre unit graphic as far as I know. The Badass Hero should upgrade to the Flamin Hero but I see I haven't made Flamin' Hero available to the Survivors, thanks.
@riley555 - I was joking with those first two choices, hope no one actually goes out and pays good money for either.

I knew allready that the Zombies own the church
But the Priest could seek refuge outside the church first and then try to recapture the church with survivors...
