Essay & Discussion: Expantion and Future War plans

My main conserned are the 2 cities that are going to stunt our growth, namely the closest 2 size 1 cities.

@GA, Ill modify the future plan to have them start at that hill.

@MOTH: The southern theater of the war would have to deal with "Grabing some cities" since most of there luxs are close to their empire.

@Mad-Max: I looked over the plan you submited but did not agreed with it since it was to Indian centered. Since it stated India first and then Dutch second.

New Version of the Battle Plan
Red Line Route: Swordsmen (Bulk of our forces)
Green Line Route: Small group of Swordsmen or horsemen. (Optional route)

The Red Line takes the advantage of the defense that the hilly terrain has to offer. The Army of Swordsmen would start outside the Dutch borders where the red X is at (or 1 tile South of it). Once enough troops have been mustered to that location and the FAs gives the go ahead, then the units moves right onto the hill.

For the Green route, this would only need a small force of swordsmen or horsemen to open up the eastern lands for us and no longer bound to the borders the Dutch impose on us. (This route is only an option if we realy want to do pest control on the dutch).

I still remain undecided on who we should attack first, however I can offer a small recommendation to the battle plans.

When attacking Rotterdam, we should occupy the wheat tile before launching our invasion as it will deny the Dutch access to that high food tile for the duration of the siege. (Unless the wheat is on the other side of the river. Kind of hard to tell in the picture with the fog.)

No, CG, I meant start our units on the hill 1 N of Roosting Tree, the one that is in our territory. Then we move units 1 N again to be able to attack The Hague.

How about we attack The Hague from the tile one tile north of the Indian warrior in our territory? That way, we get the mountain to soak up some damage.

I have incorporated changes suggested by GA and LeeT911 onto my map. Seems to be the most logical move to me. Removed routes are marked with a black hash mark and the starting x marked "void".

CivGeneral starts to notice that his map looks more like an College Writing paper returned to him :p

Why not invade The Hague via the mountains? 100% defense bonus is not something to sneer at. Plus, it wouldn't delay our attack.
Hmm, good point. Ill modify the plans a bit to have the units stack on that mountan. I must be used to Rhye's Civilization mod where nothing can go on a mountan (except workers) unless there was a road .
