Establish an embassy

Hey,

I've found that unless I discover Writing myself, and have enough gold at the time of discovery, I cannot establish embassies with other nations. If I trade to get Writing, I never get the option to establish an embassy. If I don't have enough gold at the time of discovery, it never gives me the option again.

Has anyone had this problem? and does anyone know how I can solve this, to be able to establish embassies whenever I choose to? Thanks

Nope, never had that problem.

The only situation I can recall where I couldn't establish an embassy is when I was at war with that tribe...which is slightly annoying because thats the time I most likely need some info about them.

Try clicking on that little star on your begining city, or city with the palace anyway and you can establish an embassy that way at anytime (unless your at war with them of course a horse)

yes u click on the star in your capital it will give you the embassy options and the prices per civ u have contact with and are not at war with.
