Ethiopians?

Well they had this problem with the inflation from all the gold then when it stopped...

Some degree of Eurocentrism is certainly OK, and we have to accept this is the reality - we are living in a world where European or American (derived from Euro) influence is most prevalent.

But at the mean time I do believe that we should still keep our mind open, and realize today is not the end of history. Right now the Asian civs are catching up (Japanese already beat most European countries, Chinese, Indian, Korean, and more recently the Vietnam and Thailand are all on the rise), and who knows if South America and Africa won't do the same one day. Say one day oil has run out, may be those places that produce most sweet stuffs will get the say? Or the global warming just leads to flooding of all coastal countries  ?

We just don't know. I know history is written by the winner, but there should still be some objectivity in there. Maybe at least we should reserve some respect for some non-European related civs, appreciate many of them have their glory days and the legacy may one day be revived? I personally really hate to see questions like: what have Korea/Mongols/Ethiopian/Khmers/or fill in the blank contributed to "the world", because there is an inherent sense of arrogance here. It is like some Brazilian fans keep questioning why people still watch England football (or soccer in US term) even though they haven't done a daxn thing in the World Cup for decades, or those teenagers insisting Kobe Bryant being a better player than Michael Jordan because they haven't seen the latter's glory days.
