Don't worry about tonight's game Hitro. According to my prediction, Germany will win against Latvia and deuce against Czech Republic... and Holland will lose against Czech Republic and deuce against Latvia. Which makes of Germany the 2nd of the group ! :D

As you can see, even without winning both games, Germany can go through. :)

And by the way, I wish Germany will go through. ;)

Allez la Deutsche Nationalmanschaft ! :D

I found the football passion discussion rather funny.

But I am serious about the scoring thing, I never liked gameshows in which the "final question" could still change the winner despite on guy winning everything until then.

I also prefer league systems to playoffs. I guess it's a general thing. ;)

I would rather see the later games have a slightly greater worth sine the games are probably more important. Although its less of a problem than in the CL prediction league where there would have been less interest in the later rounds if the points hadn't increased so that anyone could move up a few positions...

I really don't see the need to increase points. It's an unfair system. Just because the games are more important doesn't seem to me to be a reason to increase the points...
 
Its a way of balancing out the fact that the later rounds have less games so that these rounds still have an impact on the scores. Without wieghtings the competition would probably be over before the final as anyone with a 6 point lead would have already won.

Yes but I don't see why the later rounds need to have as many points...The competition should be largely decided by then...after all, there are 24 games in the group stages and only 7 in the knockout rounds. Those later rounds will still have an impact though, they just won't enable somebody to come from last position to win...

All games should have the same points. Surely that makes more sense?

I guess my view is that making the competition more interesting is better than having it completely equal... I feel that weightings are much more useful in the CL where there is far longer between games anda greater need to encourage people to submit predictions. Not to many people would have bothered predicting the final if the game had been worth a maximum of 5 points and the positions were already guarenteed...

My strategy about predicting surprises obviously sucked ! I've predicted a victory of Portugal on Greece and a deuce between Portugal and Russia. I felt Portugal would have difficulties in the group but I didn't know how exactly. Well, anyway, I'm not far to win the competition about the worst predictions ! :lol: :D
