---note, these stats are from census' anywhere from 2000-present

PS-i really want help on Oviedo, Orense, and La Coruna because in wikipedia, they said 214. something, and not 214, something, not knowing if it was a very small town or not

Are you making a mod or just finding info?

that is the thing... right now, im not sure if i am going to make a mod out of this, or just a map...

this thread right here is just getting people who know the cities better than i do to help me check if I have approximately the right populations or not

In Romania, the second biggest city is Iasi, and Baia Mare is way smaller than the others. :) And the third biggest is Cluj, though Constanta is important too (and it's the oldest city continuously inhabited, since 2100 years ago).

In Romania, the second biggest city is Iasi, and Baia Mare is way smaller than the others.

keep in mind, i was trying to make it fit geographically... just because it is the 2nd biggest, doesn't meant that i can fit it, and have the borders of the nations look right... ill have to look it up to see if i can make it fit

Well Baia Mare is in the northwest, while Iasi is in the northeast, close to the border. Both are far enough both from Bucharest and from Constanta, but it depends on the map... whether the borders remain right after the change or not. :)

but it depends on the map... whether the borders remain right after the change or not. :)

i posted the .BIQ in the first post, underneath the spoiler

it isn't nearly done, it just has all the cities on it, and most of the railroads/road system... (that i made up just very quickly) i still have to add resources, units, adjust the population of each city, and fix the terrain so that the city can sustain its population

as for the map... maybe i could just change Baia Mare and no one will notice

Here are the populations for Denmark.

Copenhagen-1,211,000 metro
Odense-152,060
Århus-296,013 metro
Aalborg-121,540

BTW I corrected the names. ;)

Here are my revisions for improved stats for the German cities. I'll also add a couple of cities that you might want to consider adding for the Germans as well, making that the top 15 cities in Germany. I'll bold the added cities.

Germany:

Berlin - 4,262,480
Hamburg - 1,754,317
München/Munich - 2,610,000 *metro population*
Köln/Cologne - 989,766
Frankfurt - 5,800,000 *metro population*
Stuttgart - 593,639
Düsseldorf/Duesseldorf - 581,858
Bremen - 548,477
Dortmund - 585,045
Essen - 581,406
Leipzig - 506,578
Hannover - 1,128,543 *metro population*
Dresden - 504,635
Nürnberg/Nuremberg - 500,132
Duisburg - 499,111

Hope that helps! :goodjob:

For our Civ3-WW2 mod "SOE" this was one site I did use:
http://www.populstat.info/

In the column "Important towns" it has tons of info about population data of huge numbers of towns around the world even for a lot of different time-periodes.

Poland

Warsaw / Warszawa - ok (3,050,000)

Lublin - ok (640,000)

Cracow / Krakow / Kraków - ok (1,300,000) - I hope no Cracovian reads this... but I would replace it with Katowice (1 tile to the north)... simply because it's currently the biggest metro in Poland (3,500,000) and the country's centre of heavy industry. Ideally, you should try to fit these both somehow (you have some unused space in the south of Poland).

Wroclaw / Wrocław - ok (850,000)

Elblag - it lies elsewhere (near the coast) and is not a voivodeship capital; either replace with bigger Olsztyn (230,000) or better, move to 49,31 and rename to Bialystok / Białystok (370,000).

Szczecin - it's located elsewhere (north of Berlin); replace it with Gdansk / Gdańsk (1,041,066 counting "Tricity") - it's bigger and located in the spot you've put Szczecin

Gorzow Wielkopolski - replace it with Poznan / Poznań; it's several times bigger (943,000) and one of the most important Polish cities; it's more or less the same location, but 1 tile south would be more accurate both for the city and borders

all pop. figures are of metros; added Polish spellings

Populations of Finnish, Estonian and Latvian cities
Riga 727,578
Helsinki 565 186 when include satellite towns known as Helsinki Metropolitan Area, the population rises to 1 293 093
Tallinn 400 200
Turku 175 354
Oulu 130 459

I took a look at the .biq. :)

The cities seem to be accurate for the most part. But there are some problems, with country sizes. Romania is about the size of the UK, Poland is bigger. Yet both are a lot smaller on this map. I'd add Debrecen in Hungary... I actually made a version where I changed this area as I thought... but it's just my opinion. :)

If the biq was taken from the Napoleonic era scenario included in Conquest then I'd imagine Britain would be larger to show it's power at that time in the game.

Anyway, I think you missed out some major British cities (Manchester, Liverpool) this is probably due to the size of the map. The situation is probably similar in other countries so you may want to rename/resize/change map/cities to put in more cities in more countries/make country sizes more realistic, or leave it as it is; your choice. Anyway here's a bit of data on the UK which I think is correct:

I think I'll stop there because that's more than enough cities/big towns :). And no I'm not sure how North Somerset is a City either (Just realised it probably comes under the district section).

But there are some problems, with country sizes. Romania is about the size of the UK, Poland is bigger

yeah.... i was trying to do the best that i could to keep the map acurate, but when i finished Germany, i think i was a bit to far east on the border, so i was trying to fix it, so Poland kinda got squished *not to mention very oldy shaped... looks kinda like an hour glass*

Gread Britain the Eastern Part of Europe in the Napoleanic Scenario is ALOT less acurate than the Western Part... given the fact that they only needed to have 1 or 2 countries there instead of about 15, I think they made it a bit smaller

my brother was getting on my case about how Belarus was not as large as it was on the map, and how i should have added Bilboa in Spain, *which i guess i should have added, and i think i am going to* *not to mention he thought that i should have added Luxemburg, and thought that it being a large banking station is more economically important that Moldova, or something like that

as for that extra Hungarian city...if i added that, it would probably make Romania smaller than it already is, so it is kind of hard to add it

PS-sorry about all the city names being wrong, note that American keyboards don't have some of those letters, and I got the American spelling from encarta, so i will try to change them.

PPS-im trying to add more cities to some countries.... (i.e.-Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Spain (Bilboa), and maybe several others)

as for that extra Hungarian city...if i added that, it would probably make Romania smaller than it already is, so it is kind of hard to add it

In the current map, there are spots for 3 more Romanian cities, and 1 more Hungarian city, without destroying the borders (actually making them more accurate!). I made a biq to illustrate what I was saying but I was stupid enough to save it over the file I downloaded... which was in the temporary internet files. :(
