I have been looking for some animated short pieces, which i had watched some years ago, but do not recall their name. Is anyone here familiar with this genre? It is animation meant to be seen by adults (not typically of sexual thematology; it is not the analogus of hentai) and the one i am looking for is hand-drawn.
If anyone knows any site, or other info, do help ;)

All I can think of off the top of my head is:
Disney stuff
propaganda
Simpsons and other sitcom-esque cartoons
Occasional, and usually good independent film animations.

Although it isn't Europe/U.S., though I'll still note that most anime is not hentai, and there are some very good titles out there, which I could recommend if you like.

Can you tell us what the pieces you remember were about, or give an estimate of when they were made? Details might help us hunt them down.

Hi Arcadian,
I have some japanime (i know that not all are hentai ;) ) but the animation i am looking for is not japanese;
some state channel here used to have a weekly program about european short animation, and i had watched those there.
Euro short animation is a genre by its own. I do not mean cartoons though; these are small movies...

I don't know very much about European short animation, but am curious to learn more.

Well what was the state channel called? Do you remember any recurring character's names? Anything that could help look it up?

Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama

Futurama for the win!

No i did not mean family guy/simpsons/futurama; those are very well known and are serial cartoons :)

Euro (and i think there were some american as well) short animated movies (they ussually do not last more than 10 minutes) typically have dark themes. For example there are russian animated films of some russian short stories by famous authors, like Gogol's 'the overcoat'.
It was on ERT, the greek state channel(s), so i trust you would only have seen its logo during olympics (or eurovision :D ).

I was looking for a film titled "the village".
This was an award winning short animated movie, about two young people in a village of miserable and hostile older people. One of the older characters cared only about collecting gold and hiding it under his bed, then at night bringing it out so as to kiss it ceremonially.
Short animated film is not about serials, although there are some which have several different plots, using the same characters (or at least the same images of characters, since you rarely get too accustomed to one character).

An american such animated film had quite an underground tone, with ugly drawings and a background of bestiality for example..
