I have played all war games, but i can't really remember any worthy of mention

Back to original topic: I've played a number of Always War games, most as SGs. Check out the Succession Games subforum (inside the Story and Tales Forum) and look for SGs with the "AW" tag to read up on a lot of serious Always War games.

I'm planning on moving into always war games right after I hit monarch. It will be a great chance for me to experience Civ3 Communism (Which I never seems to use odly enough )

On the Gender-Confusion subtopic, I always knew that Cuivienen was Female, and had suspicions about Tomoyo. Luckily I make it a policy to wait for someone else to guess first.
For some reason, a lot of people in chatrooms tend to associate "Yuri" with some form of Aisan Pornography rather than a Russian name. I've always found this to be quite, disturbing...

Yuri is the Japanese word for lesbian or gay, I think. Can't remember which? Yaoi is the other one.

Those are just guesses, but they are used together, so that's kinda a reasonable guess.

Er, ya, that's kind of why I'm using it. Yuri being both the name of the first man in space, and one of my favorite villians. I think thst's currently a Russian polotician named Yuri that's in Putin's cabinet (Minister of finance or defence IIRC)

Anyway, back on the subject of Perma-Wars. When do most of you make your bid for world conquest? I belive most begin in the ancient era after swordsmen, then proceed to Knights in Medevil, Cavalry for early industrial, tanks and MA later on. But when do you prefer to attack?

I prefer to attack when Knights come. I usually make slow progress until Cavalry. In AWD, my only game where I made it to that stage, I used Riders.

And I've confirmed that Yuri means "lesbian".

Usually I use Swords and Horses to damage the nearest enemy, perhaps destroying, perhaps not, then begin to rampage with Knights. Once you get Cavalry, you should be able to seal the game; if not at Cavalry, at Artillery--AW games that last any significant portion of time into the Modern Era are usually lost causes.
