Also, golden age in later game can be very powerful boost.

I find them to be rather useful in the early game. Just spam tons of warriors during the golden age and then return to buildings when it's over. I'm sure you can point out flaws in that plan, but whatever.

A shrine still provides mana and gold for agnostics. You just have to conquer the shrine city first .

You don't have to build units to spread religion after all. Besides, being evil agnostic, chances are you're pissed off and wanna take out your anger on other civs.
