Upon getting C-IV as a present......I install and even before installing DirectX9, my computer states that a cabinet file is not trusted. Please offer some help.

Yes ......i get by it and then the game still will not start
Here's what happens:
1. Install shield loads
2. Directx9.0 tries to load but the box says 'A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted.' I press 'X' and goes to directx finish button then it
3. Goes to intallation of Civ-IV....I press install and the game installs-"successfully".
4. When I try to launch the game---it says tha " the 93DX9_26.DLL file was not found.
I have tried several times to uninstall and reinstall with no luck

there is also a _25 and _27 ...all these files are incremental addons to DX9.0c
just unzip and place in your windows/system32 directory (if you have DX9.0c already ). Your then good to go
No need to install from Civ disk.

I'm sorry for your frustration, HeyYou. I understand how absolutely frustrating it can be to buy new software and not have it work properly. I hope you get it running.
