I really want to want to buy Civ7, but ... [Help me]

I have become increasingly aloof and didn't actually care much to keep up with the reveals, but I don't put much weight into that, because it's not dissimilar to my attitude towards Civ 5 and Civ 6 at release. I'll start to get worried if within a year I'm still not excited about getting into the game. At the moment I'm mostly put off by the scale, and I'm disappointed by the reports that say the AI isn't great (But I need to check this for myself, I like the simplifications they did that should make things easier for the AI, like getting rid of workers).

There's so many games, and I can't play them all. Currently I'm back on Stellaris, which will probably last a few months. Then I need to go back to No Man's Sky, haven't played it in two years. I still haven't bought Baldur's Gate 3, so there's that as well. Inevitably I'll get the itch to play the new Germany in Hoi4 and check the changes to CK 3, and if the Warhammer 3 map gets expanded or some new major developments, that's another no brainer.

The game isn't going anywhere and I don't feel any FOMO. It would be nice to get into the game right from the beginning to keep up with what the modders are doing, but it's fine.

Anyways, never bought civ game on release, usually it's too bare.. it has to mature first, like a good wine

To me, that's part of the fun. I like seeing the game evolved. I have very fond memories of early Civ V, as undercooked as it was!
