This will be my absolute last attempt at getting a good SG going...

Game Parameters:

World Size: Small Archipelago (80% ocean)
World Type: Arid, Cool, 5 billion years (interesting combo  )
Barbarians: Restless
Civ: India
Opponents: 5 Random
Difficulty: Regent (is negotiable if you want higher)
Rules: Restarting Playing/Culturally Linked Start OFF

If you do not know what an OCC is, it is a "One City Challenge" - meaning we get ONE city. Our starting settler is our only one. Any received through goody huts can be used to increase our city population or can be disbanded if necessary. As the title suggests, we are gunning for a diplomatic victory.

I would wait a little bit longer before you give this one up - it's been up for less than 24 hours! Unfortunately, there is also less interest in succession games today compared to about a month ago, making founding new games harder. It can be tough to get your own games started since fewer people frequent the forum. Maybe you should post a link in the general discussions forum? That could be a way to attract attention to your game, and it's worth a shot if nothing else.

Well I think the OCC challenge has been done to many times.

I have no interest in playing another OCC.

really? to be honest, I thought this was the first OCC SG (at least in a while). I've never seen one... darn.

I'm in. I've not done an OCC challenge...so I'd be interested in seeing it play out.

Are we allowed Colonies? Is there an OCC FAQ?

The only rule to a OCC game is that you can have only one city, ever. You can certainly found colonies, engage in wars, etc. But you have to rze all cities, reject any culture flips of a city to join your civ, meld any settlers from goody huts into your city, and so on. One thin I'd like to try in the future is a conquest game on a small map on Chieftan... while doing a OCC. It would be interesting, to say the least.

mmm... really? That was what I was planning on doing, but based on my other rejections I figured I'd get no replies. If you'd like, we can set up such a game.

Really? People like that idea? That's interesting. Maybe you should set such a game up. :) At the moment though I am playing in two succession games and also playing the RB Epics and GOTM competition games, so I'm really not looking for another game at the moment! With two people though, that's already enough to start a succession game, so maybe you should go ahead and start in the hopes of others joining as you go. :goodjob:

I think this happened about the same time as my girlfriend banned me from playing any more Civ. I think everyone's afraid of their significant others right now

Maybe there is something to be said for working out of town ;)

Meldor, the game has moved to the EXIII reborn thread because we've changed to an OCC conquest victory. I believe there is still room for you!:)

meldor - check out my earlier post, I've changed the OCC challenge to a conquest, as mystery13 suggested. If you would still like to join, just drop by the new thread and drop us a line!

If you can get enough players, you should play both scenarios.. treat it like the competition games. That way if some players are open to one scenario but not the other, they can join the one they like.

nueh... I'm not up for more than one... I'm not sure whether either will get going. I might just stick to playing other people's SGs.
