I often play as Germany and build a big empire but tire of building cities called New Berlin, New Leipzig, etc. So, instead of running out of city names, I took a map of Germany and expanded the list to include all large German cities. To incorporate this into your game, open your civ3mod file in the Civ3Edit program, go to Edit Rules, go to the Civilizations tab, locate Germany, and copy-and-paste the following list into the City Names box:

Berlin
Leipzig
Hamburg
Konigsberg
Frankfurt
Munich
Heidelburg
Nuremberg
Cologne
Hannover
Bremen
Stuttgart
Bonn
Salzburg
Dortmund
Brandenburg
Essen
Duisburg
Düsseldorf
Cottbus
Dresden
Potsdam
Chemnitz
Zwickau
Regensburg
Gera
Rostock
Halle
Magdeburg
Jena
Ingolstadt
Schwerin
Nürnberg
Erlangen
Erfurt
Augsburg
Lübeck

Salzgitter
Kiel
Göttingen
Ulm
Kassel
Heilbronn
Offenbach
Paderborn
Bielefeld
Ludwigshafen
Mainz

Great list.

Here's a few more cities with some interesting sites, in case someone actually cares:

Bamberg (Home of the Bamberger Cathedral, the Bamberger
Rider, little Venice, and the only place for Rauchbier)
Eichstaat (Full of stone quarries and the best place for finding
archaeopteryx fossils).
Kulmbach (location of the Plassenburg Fortress, which is now a
museum of pewter figures)
Kelheim (situated next to the thinnest part of the River Donau)
Bayreuth (Grave site of Richard Wagner, and site of his
Festspielhaus, and the Old Opera House)

And a few changes I had to make to the original list:

1.Munich = Munchen (in German, with the two dots over the u)
2. Heidelburg = Heidelberg
3. (I believe) Nuremburg is supposed to be Nurnberg, because I can't believe FASA/Infogrames would leave Nurnberg off the list.

KandAffar, thank you for bringing the spellings to my attention. Konigsberg should be Königsberg. Munich should be München. Heidelburg should be Heidelberg. Nuremberg should be Nürnberg (I actually had both spellings on the list). And Cologne should be Köln. Here is the corrected list:
