I guess CrowQueen set a pattern when she necro'd this thread last year. I guess it'll come back every Valenine's Day.

I can't remember if I originally posted in this thread, but I would like a city name randomizer - something less linear. Other than that, I think they did a fairly good job with the city names. Except for there not being Brianopolis, Briandam, Brianberg, Los Briangeles....

Regarding some civs' city lists:

America: Still doesn't have Marblehead, which was one of the largest U.S. cities during the 1790s

Going on that logic, the city of Alexandria, VA should probably be included as well. It was one of the largest port cities in the US in the late 1700s and very early 1800s. Probably would have been today if it wasn't for the War of 1812, if my memory serves correctly.

I like to rename barbarian cities to non-descriptive names. So Alemanni becomes Alemannia, Assyrian becomes Assyria, Jutes becomes Jutland, etc.

So, I've been wondering... who the hell are the Shangians? Closest I could find are the Chinese Shang dynasty and the Mozambican Shangaan people.

Never played any of the Earth maps. Although I have heard it said that Egypt has it easy.

A central location full of flood plains and easy access to Asia, the Congo, and European lands? Easy.

I wasn't refering to the Earth map though. I was just remarking that if the Egyptians are on the map, the Greeks don't found Thebes, but move on to their forth city.
