I'm using Mozilla 1.4 on mac os x

When I'm using IE5.2 it is possible to collaps or Expand a post in a threadview, or to collaps or Expand them all. In other browsers however, you can't.

This is in itself not a problem for me becouse I never use them. but the problem is, I always see the posts collapsed, thus I can't see the content. Only the posts that are new since my last visit are Expanded. But as soon as I view a second thread the post are no longer considered "new since my last visit" so most of the time I see the posts collapsed. And becouse I can't see the collapse and Expand "buttons", I can only see the content of those posts by trying to find them in the page source code view. (wich is almost undoable)

I would like to see those "collapse" function work under mozilla 1.4.
OR i'd like to see the posts ALWAYS Expanded.

Becouse the "collapse butttons" don't even appear in the page source code it has obviusly nothing to do with my browser. The forum server is set up to not make this collapse function work with my browser. (not even send the html sourcecode for it)

As I said before, I don't mind if you can't make the collapse thing work in other browser than IE but the least you can do is make sure that other browsers always see the posts in the expanded view.

I have tried looking for an on/off switch option in my user cp but it does not appear to exist. I can't be the only one with this problem right? It has gone on for some time now, since the day I used mozllla 1.1 Don't other mozilla users have this problem? *sigh*

please help!:(

One reason no one (in my very limited experience) has posted something about this may be that people notice mozilla "doesn't work" here, so they simply don't use it.
This is a very resonable request, and I hope you get help.

check your FORUM setting in:
user CP>
edit options>
thread view options:
contract posts you have already read?

Add that is the whole point! THAT option, actually does not appear in my user CP

However.... Just becouse i have an itch, i checked my user CP with IE5.... and the option DOES appear in my user CP

So i changed the options in IE and then moved back to mozilla. Now posts no longer appear collapsed! :goodjob:

Problem solved!

Still I suggest:
chance the forumsoftware so that if the forum chooses to not send a feature to a certain user agent, it makes sure that it does not only not send the switch to enable the feature, but not send the feature at all.
Becouse the user won't be able to switch the buggy feature off without the switch.

And one more thing; Why isn't this feature enabled for mozilla? That it doesn't work is one thing, but why not send the code for this feature at all?
Mozilla v1.4 is released recently, has it been tested if this feature works with v1.4 or still doesn't work?

@mrtn
Actually, most of the time, this is not a resonable request. A lot of ppl don't seem to know that. But then again, A lot of ppl don't seem to know any netequette.

VBB has MANY wanted features that other forum programs lack. It is know in this verson to be more compatable with IE than other browsers, but has some quirks with all of them.
