So, for a third expansion, I’d love to see it focus on space.

So as of right now, you launch your spaceship parts, and you win. That’s it.

What if instead, you could actually settle Mars. Of course, once you arrive, other Civs will (according to their science). And the moon maybe. Each would have its own unique resources, and you could expand across the surface like a second earth. There would also need to be new techs for this. At first, they’d be costly and unprofitable, but as you advanced through the future tech tree, they would slowly become profitable, and later, essential. Like let’s say... artificial gravity stops citizens from decaying in strength etc. that kinda thing. Aliens would also be a nice touch. I think this would be great for the late game, because by that time, all the land has been settled, tiles improved. Everything is done, and it’d just you beating up the AI, or winning. This would add a new dimension to it.

Also, multi civ alliances. Instead of with each civ, factions. If one of you gets declared on, all others join, no matter what, they have increased trade with each other, and could improve each other’s tiles.

Considering most people finish games way before modern eras , focus on space is...wasted. May as well make beyond earth 2 , which I hope they wont.

Most people in here. The vast majority of players never go above Prince and even struggle against the ai. Not all are civ fanatics nor min maxing players going for the optimal strategy.
