Brad, I know you are still waiting for the code for the newest patch, and I do appreciate all the work you have been doing for us mac users, work that you weren't originally contracted to do might I add. What I would like to know is whether you have heard any news about the expansion being sent your way any time soon?

Thanks.

Let me answer that with a question - where have you heard about an expansion pack? :)

It went up yesterday on some sites. Brad, do you believe the EXP will meet the minimum requirements (8.6) that the original civ3 did? [Edit --- of course a decision has to be made to port it for mac] I ask only because the editor is being made for the OS X systems only.

I know about as much as you guys do regarding the expansion pack. If it were to come to the Mac and we did the port, I think the system requirements might be similar. My preference would be to drop 8.6 as a requirement and move to 9.something, mainly because it's very hard to test and qualify anything on 8.6 any more.

How difficult is it to upgrade my system? Costs? I saw software for a 9.something some time ago around $100. Is it a matter of just slipping in a CD and installing?

You might check eBay for low priced OS9 cds. Just pop in the CD and do a reinstall.

I appreciate the quick responses Brad:)

It is unfortunate how we as gamers tend to find out about stuff before you do. You would hope that the people responsible for porting it to the mac (you) would hear about it first. Just goes to show how far down the pecking line us mac users actually sit when it comes to Firaxis' major concerns.

Thanks for all your continued hard work Brad, I don't know if you realize just how much we as a mac community appreciate what you do for us!!!:goodjob:

Ditto!

There could be an entire forum to laud the benefits that Brad has brought to us as a community. Everything from hosting an OS X version of SMAC/X to numerous authoritative posts which inform us and calm us down during times of early bugdom or extreme marginalisation. I always check out a Brad Oliver post in any forum. You the man-:king:

Okay, Brad. I've been thinking. If... you... want, I'll be more than happy to "test and qualify" Civ3: PTW on my 8.6 system. ;)
