hi all,

i have Civ4, and Warlords, and BtS. 3 separate packages.

i have installed all of them in the past, updated them all, and have had them all run fine, including with the DRM removed with the last BtS patch, which is great.

my question is, for a new install (meaning, on a new machine), do i need to install Warlords if i am going to also install BtS?

in other words, do i miss out or lose any features, like wonders, civs, leaders, scenarios, mods, etc, by ONLY installing Civ4 and BtS, and NOT installing Warlords?

i ntk b/c i have a laptop with a small SSD, and saving space is key.

thx in advance!

(one thing i'd love to see in Civ5 is an option to NOT install space hog files, like movies)

You will just be missing the Warlords scenarios if you install BTS without Warlords. BTS does use some of the Warlords code so it creates a dummy install with just what it needs so you will still find a Warlords folder, it would just be smaller than a full Warlords install, I'm not sure how much though. You can get problems due to the code needed by BTS if you uninstall/install Warlords after BTS, so decide before hand to avoid hassle later.

Have a look at Lemon's Civ/Vista thread stickied in this forum for a suggested install/patch sequence. The install sequence is relevant for more than just Vista and tips such as run as administrator are appropriate for both Vista and W7.
