We currently have one Caravel queued that will be completed in 4 turns. I suggest that we send that caravel west and that we build another caravel in Lyons (will also be completed in 4 turns) to send east. This way, we'll be able to discover the last unknown opponent, explore our rivals territory and perhaps even win the circumnavigation bonus.

Sounds like my own circumnavigation tactic, dutchfire. Therefor I can only approve of this plan.

The caravel is being built in Rheims.

Hopefully, we'll succeed and beat Monty. The bonus is always good to have.

That said, I want to sink the Aztec caravel, so we see that they have no circumcision of the world, and that we can get that bonus.

Can we build a ship and stop the Aztec caravel?

I cringe at the thought. Let us prevent the Aztecs from removing a very sensitive part of the world.:p

I agree with Moth. I hate to attack them without realizing what we're getting ourselves into. They may be weak, or they may be something we'd rather not grab onto the tail of.

Edit:  Whoops, just now realized that Moth was talking about the misspelled meaning (which btw I didn't even notice  ).

Well, if we have 2 caravels near enough to whack it in the same turn, maybe :mischief:

Pssh... you guys dont know what you are talking about... the world is sqaure and if you want to kill our sailors by sending them off the side, dont blame me!

He's joking, about up until 15th? century most people in this world believe the earth is flat  :)

I think Civ4 should be equipped with different map templates to be randomized, so that the world could actually be flat or a globe, 50 % chance for each.

Joe my question is, what kind of adjustment has been chose at beginning,
normal world or flat rectangle.

oops sorry! :)

When you go into Play Now, it shows maps that are round as a globe, when the maps are flat they just fill the screen with the type of terain it has.

Stuff like "Great Plains are flat for example.

We chose a standard size continents map. So a normal world.
