Extreme choppiness. What should I upgrade?

now that smidlee has mentioned it, yes i've noticed that when civ is choppy and i check the task manager, the priority is "below normal". if i change it back to normal or to high, and switch back to civ, the priority goes back to below normal again. so alt tab doesn't seem to help, but now i know the main reason (if not THE reason) i still experience choppiness is this bug

probably the main reason even much faster systems could experience slowdown.

on the other hand, this could be good news, as long as the patch can fix the bug, i just might be able to play without any more upgrades. so yeah chiefwiggum i'm gonna wait for the patch

i have good news. after patching to 1.09, gameplay is now smooth on a standard sized, modern age game with map fully revealed. i have yet to try a larger map with this new patch but i am satisfied with the performance on standard now. i still need to turn graphics down to the minimum, but this will do until i get a new system next year!

That's great news. Atleast you don't have to worry about ram now even with larger maps. (the game still uses the same amount of ram even wit the patch) I haven't seen no improvement in performance in this late huge maps with my newest pc. I going to try the patch on my older pc to see if there's an improvement.
