Factory Improvements

Hello,

I am a little confused about when and how the factory Improvements are used
in Civilization:

I know that you can't build Factory anymore when you have built a
Manufacturing Plant. I think the Hydro Plant is only possible next
to a River or Mountain.

But somehow, even after acquiring all Civilization Advances,
I haven't seen Nuclear Plant show up anywhere, and I only
saw Power Plant once (built it in one City), and then it
vanished from the menu.

Also, the Hydro Plant seem to have vanished too (only
from the menu, not the ones actually built) once
I built the Hoover Dam.

Thanks.

That's because plants of any kind are redundant on the continent where you have Hoover Dam. Try founding a colony on a different continent. Power, nuclear and (terrain permiting) hydro plants should be available from that city's build menu.

Isn't i so that that each of the plants (nuke, hydro, power) excludes each other? And when you biuld the Hoover dam you make a hydro plant in every city on the continent, even those where it has no effect beacause there's no mountain/river?

so before you biuld the HD i could be a good idea to make a nuclear plant in the cities where the HD have no effect?

Conversely, sell off power plants after building Hoover Dam as they still drain tax dollars. Also, there's risk of meltdowns in pre-Fusion Power societies.
