Hello There, I've recently discovered this site and am really enjoying the downloads. Although, more than 3/4th of the zip files I attmept to download display an error message saying "No Files to Extract". Is this a problem with my computer system or an issue with the website? I don't have any problems with PCX files or other formats.

Your response is appreciated.

It looks more like a browser-integration type of error. Do you have any download manager (such as Go!Zilla, FlashGet, GetRight ...) installed? If you do, then check their settings on how to handle .zip file, or disassociate them from managing zip files. If you have more than one, there could also be conflicts with each program trying to steal the associations from the other.

For a simple solution (which may or may not work), right-click the file you want to download and choose the "Save Target As" option.

When I proceed to download a file, I click on the link included in the archive or the thread. Upon doing this, a new browser window is opened with the URL the corresponds to the link I clicked on. There is some download activity, depending upon the file size it takes a minute of two for the browser to download, it then asks me if I want to save the file in a compressed format or extract it to a folder. On either option I choose, it tells me there is "no files to extract" or "unable to find the specified file" when I hit the OK button. I don't have any download managers installed and I tried the "save target as" option but only saved the link not the file content. Could it be a WinZip problem? Maybe it's time to upgrade to Windows XP, :-)

Does it work like this in other websites too? It may be your file association in explorer (I assume you use IE) that is playing silly buggers.
Welcome to CFC, BTW. :D

Thanks guys, you're on to something 'mrtn', I switch browser to netscape and am no longer having a problem. I guess it has to do with with IE.
Thanks Agains
