Failing to keep the Faith

I chose two Follower Beliefs that 1) allows me to build Mosques with Faith, for which I was supposed to receive 3 Faith, 2 Culture, and 1 Happiness per turn, and 2) allows me to build Pagodas with Faith, for which I was supposed to get 2 Faith, 2 Culture, and 2 Happiness per turn. Upon close examination of the city screens, I discover that the only Faith I'm getting is from the Shrines and Temples, but nada for the Mosques and Pagodas.

Anyone else discover that their Belief buildings aren't generating the payoff that was promised?

Incredibly stupid question on my part, but how -- step-by-step would be helpful -- do I do that? I know where on my HD the Saves end up, but uploading one eludes me.

When composing a forum post, click Go Advanced. Among the message formatting options above the text box (Fonts, Sizes, etc.) is a paper clip (tooltip is "Attachments"). Pretty intuitive from that point onwards (Choose File, Upload, etc.).

Another route to the same destination is to choose "Manage Attachments" in the "Additional Options" area below the "Submit" and "Preview" buttons.

Bleah. The Save file size is 3.12 Mb, which exceeds the upload limit of 2.0 Mb.

Any other suggestion? Some way to compress the file to less than 2.0 Mb perhaps?

Either zip or far the save file to get the size down or post it to something like Dropbox and link there.

Hmm. I'd prefer to not open up yet another Internet account, just to be able to upload one file. _Might_ be able to do a zip. Would WinZip get the job done? I've used it to UNzip files, but I've never tried to zip a file on my HD.

Yes, WinZip will work. To compress a file using WinZip, right-click on the file in Windows Explorer. One of the options should be WinZip. Selecting this option should allow you to add your file to a zip file. Even if the compressed file is still larger than 2 MB, you still should be able to attach it to a post because the size limit for zip files is 10 MB.

Okay, let's try this again. I've zipped a file, but no guarantees that it was done correctly.

In this Save I'm playing Venice. Nearby, I used a Merchant of Venice to buy Hanoi. I'm using @35 mods that expand a lot of stuff, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if one or more of them is what bollixed the Faith generation system.

If you go into either city and check the Faith totals, you'll see points for the Shrines, Temples, etc., but the 3 points for Mosques and 2 points for Pagodas aren't being added to the totals.

I was able to unzip your file and bring it up in the Load screen. However, I couldn't actually load it because I don't have the necessary mods. It's difficult to test heavily-modded games since we can't tell if two or more of the mods conflict with each other.

Would it help if I gave you the list of mods used in that game? (Or have we gotten into "More bother than its worth" territory?)

I can see a list of the required mods when I try to load your save. One of the mods in use is Race for Religion. According to one of the screenshots in the first post of that thread, Mosques provide happiness and science while Pagoda provide happiness. Neither provides Faith.

Ah!, It overwrote the parameters. When choosing Beliefs initially, the Belief descriptions specified the Faith, Culture, and Happiness components.

Looks like next game I'll be dumping Race For Religion. Thanks for sorting that out for me!
