Failure to initialize renderer

i keep getting this message, and i even re-installed DirectX. It says to check graphic settings, but i dont know how to do that. The DXdiag is telling me that im using the generic driver, and it also says the Direct3D function isnt available Help!

Does it get rid of the error message? Has anything changed at all?

1.Nothing. At all.

2. Windows XP Home Edition (SP1) becuase I cant get SP2 because my IE doesnt work right, Do you know a way i can get it through fireforx?
