Nobody from Civfanatics who participates in a game at RB has been "stolen". We aren't competing football franchises. Not unless you believe that RB is such a massive improvement that nobody who participates in a game there would ever want to return.


Feel free to try to "proselytize" at RB. We've certainly had people recruit for Civfanatics games there before, without freaking out over it. Better yet, try joining a game yourself. As long as you behave yourself, you might find you actually like it...

Knoedel, Bob is entitled to his views. He's not being aggressive about it, he's not derailing this thread. Tbh, he doesn't have any sort of vendetta nearing the amount you seem to feel for Realms Beyond, and you're the one who seems to want to derail this into a RB vs. CFC pissing match.

Guys the topic is with hindsight we could have done with a bit of a sped up game. However we have been doing daily turns recently and things will eventually pick up. We are over the main hill of it now, workers should be popping out shortly.

Hmmm I'm a member of maybe every Civ based Group/Forum.

I'm pretty sure the forum you use to set up a game doesn't matter. Some players are faster than others. A pitboss game vs a live game vs a PBEM game are all different formats and different speeds. Some games are smaller and faster. Some are larger and slower. The forum used to organize it doesn't matter one bit.

Even the largest and most complex games have some turns that are boring. And even the smaller/earlier games have some really stressful turns. It all depends. Its a fact, civ is a bit boring in the beginning. I've played both scenarios and start from turn 1 type games. Scenarios get you involved quicker. But the games from turn 1 are more enjoyable to me because after a while the entire game becomes its own scenario, except I know I've built my civ to get to the position they are in.

There's no argument here. This game we start from the beginning. Yes, its sorta boring now. But every turn is building to something bigger and we will all appreciate having been there from the beginning in a year from now. Patience my friends!

LOL... actually the scout got sick from food poisoning. But yes, it must have passed to me as well!
