I used to eagerly test out some of the civ3 mods that tried to have a fantasy flair and am curious if anyone is going to try for one along the lines of the old game Master of Magic or the Master of Myrror mod that was for Civ3

Thanks!

There are at least three fantasy mods in the works that I know of (one being mine). All three that I know of need some stuff from the SDK to do all that they want to do, though, so it may be a few months before they're released.

As for my mod, I'm pretty busy in real life at this time so the pace of production is a bit slower than I'd like.

I'm also looking into making a Fantasy mod, the last time I did a mod was for civilization II. Only did some modding for my self in CivIII. But the moddability of CivIV is incredible, will need the SDK though to make it all as I want it.

Mine will be low fantasy though, more of a dark late classical early darkages mod with magic involved.

What do you need from the SDK, I'm wondering? I can see a fantasy mod being possible, but it might look a little silly due to a lack of graphics... I've thought about adding heros to the game as units that can really travel across the entire promotion system. When they die, they can be rebuilt with the same amount of exp. Or spawn back in the capital after some turn delay. I'm pretty sure it's possible in Python.

I want to do a fantasy mod and I'm waiting for the SDK because I'm a C++ programmer. ;) Also to my knowledge Python is mostly for the interface itself, as opposed to changing game mechanics.

Right now I would say I'm in a planning stage. Figuring out ideas for techs, wonders, buildings, etc. I also need people to wait for others to contribute fantasy flavored units because I am not an artist.
